This full-day, hands-on workshop starts with a walk through Grant Park along the lakefront, to find inspiration and small “gifts”, and ends with a large wet plate collodion photogram crafted by the group and displayed at the Festival Portfolio Walk.
In this workshop participants will learn the process of 19th century wet plate collodion through photograms, camera-less images made by placing objects on photo-sensitized material. Participants will sequence their own small, hand-made, collodion plates to create one large group piece with nature, the lakefront, and the city providing inspiration. Participants can take home their individual pieces at the close of the Portfolio Walk on Saturday evening.
Includes all course materials. This workshop is held offsite at Columbia College Chicago, 600 S. Michigan Avenue, 10th floor.
This workshop is limited to 12 students.
